How it works

Glycine Max Seed Extract leads the ingredient panel on this toner. Soybean Seed Extract carries isoflavones, plant sterols and soy proteins. It is used as a conditioning antioxidant extract. On this panel it sits alongside Ceramide NP, Chondrus Crispus Extract and Saccharum Officinarum Extract. Ceramide NP is the most used cosmetic ceramide, the same class of lipid that makes up roughly half the mortar between cells in the outer layer of skin. Added to a cream it slots into that structure, which is why ceramide formulas feel less leaky rather than merely greasy.

Key benefits

  • Glycine Max Seed Extract named on this product's own ingredient panel, near the top of it
  • Ceramide NP on the same panel, the formula's barrier lipid
  • Chondrus Crispus Extract on the same panel, the formula's plant extract
  • 300 ml to a unit
  • Korean GS1 barcode matched against a Korea sourcing supplier's record for this item

Key actives

Glycine Max Seed Extract

Soybean Seed Extract carries isoflavones, plant sterols and soy proteins. It is used as a conditioning antioxidant extract.

Ceramide NP

Ceramide NP is the most used cosmetic ceramide, the same class of lipid that makes up roughly half the mortar between cells in the outer layer of skin. Added to a cream it slots into that structure, which is why ceramide formulas feel less leaky rather than merely greasy.

Chondrus Crispus Extract

Chondrus Crispus is Irish moss, a red seaweed. It is loaded with carrageenan, so it hydrates and thickens at once, and it leaves a cushioned, slippery film.

Saccharum Officinarum Extract

Sugarcane Extract carries natural glycolic acid and sugars. In cosmetics it is used as a humectant; the acid content is far too low to work as an exfoliant.

How to use

  1. Use the Soybean Nourishing Toner straight after cleansing, morning and evening, while the face is still damp.
  2. Pour a coin-sized pool into your palms and press it over the face in two passes rather than dragging it around with a cotton pad.
  3. It goes on before serum and moisturizer, and the damp layer it leaves is what the step above it holds on to.
  4. Twice a day, every day. Do not let it dry down completely before the next layer goes on, or you lose the reason for applying it to damp skin.

Worth knowing

  • Pat the toner in with palms rather than dragging a cotton pad hard across skin, since friction rather than the formula is what irritates sensitive skin.
  • Layer a serum or moisturizer over it while skin is still slightly damp, since a toner alone is not built to be the last step.
