How it works
Each pad is soaked and ready, so the amount is set before you open the jar. One pad covers the face, and a second can be laid flat on one area as a short compress. A liquid in a bottle does a similar job, but a soaked pad meters the dose for you and doubles as the applicator. Use it as the first leave-on step, on a clean face and before anything thicker goes on. You can judge it on the minute after: comfortable, even, and ready for the next step.
Key benefits
- works on the look of uneven tone rather than texture alone
- eases the look of stressed, sensitized skin after a rough day
- supports the look of firmer, more resilient skin
- supports a plumper, less dehydrated look through the day
- delivers its formula in one pre-measured swipe rather than a poured amount
Key actives
Niacinamide
A barrier-supporting brightening agent that works on visible tone evenness and pore appearance. In this formula it works on the look of tone and dark spots rather than on texture or hydration, so it is doing a job the rest of the ingredient list is not.
Panthenol
Pro-vitamin B5, which draws water into the surface and supports a compromised barrier. It is the ingredient this formula leans on when skin is visibly reactive, working alongside the other ingredients rather than replacing what a plain moisturizer already does.
Adenosine
An approved Korean anti-wrinkle functional ingredient that supports skin's own natural renewal. It is included for renewal and resilience support, a different lane from the hydration and soothing work the rest of the formula does.
Sodium Hyaluronate
A low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid salt that pulls and holds water at the surface, sitting differently in the skin than plain hyaluronic acid.
3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid
A stable, oil-and-water-soluble vitamin C derivative used for brightening without the instability of pure ascorbic acid. In this formula it works on the look of tone and dark spots rather than on texture or hydration, so it is doing a job the rest of the ingredient list is not.
What is this product, and who is it for?
It is a brightening toner pad in a jar of 70 pads, made for skin with uneven tone that wants the toner step to do more. It also does something a bottle cannot, which is act as a short leave-on compress on one stubborn area. The test is simple enough, which is how the face feels and looks once it has settled.
How do I actually use a pad?
Take one pad from the jar, sweep it over the face after cleansing, and let the liquid settle before the next step. The pad is both the dose and the applicator, so there is nothing to measure. Some people lay a pad flat on one area for a minute as a short compress, which is a use a bottle cannot offer.
How many pads should I use at once?
One is enough for the whole face, and using two at once mostly wastes liquid. Once in the morning and once at night is the standard pattern, though many people keep them to the evening. Close the lid tightly each time so the pads at the top do not dry out before you reach the bottom of the jar.
Will these leave residue under makeup?
Let the liquid dry down before you put a base on and there is nothing left to feel. Straight after the pad the skin is damp, and going into makeup at that point is what causes pilling. Give it thirty seconds, carry on with your moisturizer and sunscreen, and apply your base once the surface is dry to the touch.
Is this the Korean formula, or a US version of it?
This is the Original Korean Formula, bought in the jar of 70 pads sold for the Korean market rather than a US reformulation. Barcodes and batch codes stay intact on the box.

How to use
- Use one pad as your first leave-on step, morning or evening, on a freshly cleansed face.
- For a small area that needs more, lay the pad flat on it for a minute as a short compress.
- Press the remaining liquid in with your fingertips instead of letting it evaporate off the surface.
- Never reuse a pad on a second day, and close the lid firmly so the rest do not dry out.
Worth knowing
- Store the jar closed and use clean fingers or the tongs so the pads at the top stay wet.
- Wear sunscreen daily while you use a brightening step, and skip a broken area.
