How it works

A BHA is the oil-soluble acid, which is why it is the one reached for when the complaint sits inside the pore rather than on the surface. This is the BHA liquid in COSRX's line, thin enough to go on with a cotton pad after cleansing, in place of the toner step. Skin with blackheads across the nose and chin is the case it fits, and a scrub on that skin usually leaves it tight without clearing anything. Two or three evenings a week is a sensible ceiling, with moisturizer after it the same evening. Sunscreen the next morning is part of using an acid at all.

Key benefits

  • Willow bark water, not plain water, is the first ingredient
  • Betaine salicylate sits third for gentle oil and blackhead care
  • Niacinamide follows for a more even, refined look
  • Panthenol and sodium hyaluronate cushion the exfoliation

How to use

  1. Use the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid in the evening, after cleansing, in place of your toner step.
  2. Sweep it over dry skin with a cotton pad, over the nose and chin first, keeping clear of the eye area.
  3. Wait a minute, then follow with a hydrating layer and moisturizer the same evening.
  4. Start at two evenings a week and build from there. Do not use it in the same routine as another acid or a retinoid.
