How it works
Missha is a mainstream Korean drugstore brand with one of the longest-running catalogs in Korean skincare, and Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment 130ml is formulated as a toner for the Korean market rather than a US-shelf reformulation. Niacinamide is one of the most established multi-tasking actives in Korean formulation, valued for supporting an even, calm-looking tone and a smoother surface texture with continued use. It sits at position 6 of 31 ingredients on this row's own list, ahead of most of the formula's supporting agents. Adenosine is a wrinkle-care ingredient standard across Korean cosmetics, commonly included to support a firmer, smoother-looking surface as part of a daily routine. Further down the list, Centella Asiatica Extract appears at position 10 of 31, adding a supporting layer rather than the lead role.

- Ceramide NP closes out the back half of the list at position 29 of 31, a supporting rather than lead role.
- Sodium Hyaluronate appears at position 13 of 31 on the ingredient list, ahead of most of the formula's supporting agents.

What is the Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment 130ml?
It is Missha's toner. Niacinamide is one of the most established multi-tasking actives in Korean formulation, valued for supporting an even, calm-looking tone and a smoother surface texture with continued use. Sweep across a cleansed face with a cotton pad or press in with palms as the first step after cleansing.
What does Niacinamide do in the Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment 130ml?
Niacinamide is one of the most established multi-tasking actives in Korean formulation, valued for supporting an even, calm-looking tone and a smoother surface texture with continued use. It sits at position 6 of 31 on this row's own ingredient list.
Who is the Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment 130ml suited for?
It suits normal, combination, oily and sensitive skin looking for first routine step after cleansing. Fragrance is on the ingredient list, so anyone avoiding added scent should check the list before buying.
How do I use the Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment 130ml?
Sweep across a cleansed face with a cotton pad or press in with palms as the first step after cleansing. Give it a few weeks in that slot before judging the result, since a toner works cumulatively rather than after one use.
Is the Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment 130ml the authentic Korean-market formula?
Yes. We stock Missha's Korean-market formula rather than a version reformulated for US shelves. What ships is the 130ml unit sold on Korean shelves, with the Korean barcode and batch code intact on the box.

29 of 29 explained
- Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- Glycereth-26 humectant
- Glycereth-26 is a modified glycerin that hydrates with far less stickiness than glycerin itself. It is a common way to load water into a formula that has to stay light.
- Butylene Glycol humectant
- Butylene Glycol is a small glycol that does two jobs at once: it holds water in the top layer of skin and it dissolves plant extracts and actives that plain water cannot. It also thins a formula, which is why watery Korean essences lean on it.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Niacinamide active
- Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. It is used at roughly 2 to 5 percent for the look of uneven tone and visible pores, and it is water soluble, stable and comfortable beside almost every other active, which is why it turns up in so many lists.
- Alcohol Denat solvent
- Alcohol Denat. is ethanol with a bitter additive that makes it undrinkable, which is a tax rule rather than a formulation choice. It behaves like alcohol: a fast-evaporating solvent that gives a weightless finish and can feel drying at higher levels.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Portulaca Oleracea Extract plant extract
- Portulaca Oleracea is purslane. Its extract is unusually high in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants for a plant, and Korean formulas use it for the look of reddened, reactive skin.
- Centella Asiatica Extract plant extract
- Centella Asiatica is the plant behind the whole cica category, sold as gotu kola or Madagascar centella. Its extract is the anchor of Korean formulas built for easily reddened skin, and its work is done by four triterpenes: asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid.
- Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract plant extract
- Fig Fruit Extract carries fruit sugars, mild acids and a protein-digesting enzyme. It is used as a hydrating extract with a light smoothing effect.
- Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract plant extract
- Baobab fruit extract. The dry pulp is high in vitamin C, pectin and organic acids, and the extract is used as a conditioning antioxidant botanical.
- Sodium Hyaluronate humectant
- Sodium Hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid, and it is what most products labelled hyaluronic actually contain. The salt dissolves more readily and the molecule is smaller, so it sits in the outer layer of skin rather than only on top of it.
17 more explained
- Hydrogenated Lecithin emulsifier
- Hydrogenated Lecithin is lecithin with its unsaturated bonds filled in, which makes it far more stable. It emulsifies and is the standard shell for the liposomes that carry actives into the outer layer of skin.
- Octyldodeceth-16 emulsifier
- An ethoxylated branched fatty alcohol. It emulsifies and also gives a formula a soft, cushioned slip.
- Snail Secretion Filtrate (3,000ppm) humectant
- Snail Secretion Filtrate is the mucin a snail produces, filtered for cosmetic use, and it is the ingredient the Korean snail category is built on. It carries glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid and glycolic acid, and it is used for hydration and a smoother-looking surface.
- Hydroxyacetophenone preservative booster
- Hydroxyacetophenone is an antioxidant that also strengthens a preservative system, so a formula needs less traditional preservative. Korean formulas pair it with 1,2-hexanediol constantly.
- Sea Water mineral
- Sea Water is filtered and desalinated seawater used in place of plain water. It carries magnesium, calcium and potassium, so it brings the mineral balance of the base closer to skin's own.
- Ethylhexylglycerin preservative booster
- Ethylhexylglycerin softens skin and boosts a preservative system, which is why it is nearly always sitting beside phenoxyethanol or 1,2-hexanediol. It also cuts down the odour bacteria produce, so it turns up in deodorising products.
- Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer thickener
- This is a carbomer relative with fatty side chains, so it thickens and stabilises an emulsion at the same time. It gives a light gel-cream body rather than a heavy one.
- Caprylyl Glycol preservative booster
- Caprylyl Glycol is a glycol that conditions skin and, more importantly, strengthens a preservative system so less of the traditional preservative is needed. It appears in most modern formulas built without parabens.
- Tromethamine pH adjuster
- Tromethamine neutralises acidic thickeners such as carbomer so they gel, and holds a formula near skin-friendly pH. It is used at a fraction of a percent.
- Xanthan Gum thickener
- Xanthan Gum is a polysaccharide made by fermenting sugar. It thickens a watery formula into a gel and holds the whole thing in suspension so nothing separates. Too much of it and a serum turns stringy, which is why it appears in fractions of a percent.
- Adenosine active
- Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated.
- Disodium EDTA chelator
- EDTA is a chelator: it locks up trace metal ions from water and packaging that would otherwise turn a formula cloudy, off-colour or rancid. It does nothing to skin and appears at a fraction of a percent.
- Caprylhydroxamic Acid preservative booster
- A chelator that works by denying microbes the iron they need, which lets a formula hold at a skin-friendly pH with less conventional preservative.
- Betaine humectant
- Betaine is a sugar-beet-derived humectant that cells use to hold water. In a formula it hydrates and takes the edge off cleansers and acids, which is why it often appears alongside them.
- Ceramide NP barrier lipid
- Ceramide NP is the most used cosmetic ceramide, the same class of lipid that makes up roughly half the mortar between cells in the outer layer of skin. Added to a cream it slots into that structure, which is why ceramide formulas feel less leaky rather than merely greasy.
- Tocopherol antioxidant
- Tocopherol is vitamin E. It is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects the oils in a formula from going rancid and works on skin as an emollient, and it is regularly paired with vitamin C because each keeps the other going for longer.
- Fragrance fragrance
- Fragrance, or Parfum, is a single declaration standing for a whole scent blend, which can be dozens of materials. Regulators allow it as a trade secret, so a list showing only this word does not say what the scent is made of. It is the most common trigger named by people with reactive skin.

How to use
- Cleanse first and go straight to this while your face is still damp, since a damp surface takes it evenly.
- Pour a small amount into your palm or onto a cotton pad and press it over the face and neck.
- Follow with your serum and moisturiser within a minute or two so the water has something to sit under.
- Do not rub it in with force or let your face dry off completely first, because both waste the step.
Worth knowing
- Fragrance is on the ingredient list, so anyone avoiding added scent should check the list before buying.
- Alcohol Denat is on the list, so very dry or reactive skin may want to patch test before working this into a full routine.
