How it works

This PDRN Tension Toner Pad is cotton pads presoaked in a watery toner, formulated around sodium DNA (PDRN), niacinamide and panthenol. It sweeps over the skin and is meant to be swiped over cleansed skin in place of pouring liquid toner by hand. The remaining formula carries supporting humectants and film-forming agents typical of a VT toner of this kind, listed in full on the ingredient panel itself. Introduce this product on its own for the first several uses before layering it with other actives.

Worth knowing

  • Anyone new to an ingredient on this formula's own list still does well to patch test on the inner arm before a first full application.

What professionals say

What skin-care professionals say about the key actives in this formula, quoted from the medical sources linked beside each.

  • Hyaluronic acid helps bind water to collagen, which traps water in the skin. That helps make the skin more plump and full-looking.

Samantha Stein, PA-CDermatology physician assistant, Cleveland Clinic
  • Ceramides are part fatty acid and part amino acid and are able to be the grout that keeps the building blocks of the skin together and functioning as a barrier between the inside and outside world.

  • Niacinamide helps reduce the appearance of pores in a few ways. By strengthening the skin barrier and improving elasticity, pores appear less noticeable and more even.
