How it works
A thin clear liquid pressed on with the palms straight after cleansing. It dries down without tack, which is what an even serum layer depends on. An essence does something close to this but sits heavier, so a watery first layer is the quicker way to open a routine. It goes on before every other leave-on step, which is what lets the rest of the routine spread evenly. The honest test is the minute after it dries down: comfortable and even, or still tight.
Key benefits
- calms the look of visible redness and reactivity
- preps the surface so what follows absorbs more evenly
- is the authentic Korean-market formula, not a US-shelf reformulation
- carries the intact Korean-market packaging and batch code rather than an over-labeled substitute
How to use
- Press it on as the first leave-on step of the morning and evening, on skin still damp from the sink.
- Two or three passes with the palms cover the whole face and use less than a cotton round would.
- Go over the sides of the nose and the jaw, the two places most people leave dry.
- Avoid dragging a soaked cotton round across the cheeks, since the pull is harder on the skin than the liquid is.
What is this product, and who is it for?
It is a calming toner in a 200ml bottle, made for blemish prone skin that wants a calm first step. That is the difference from a cream, which is built to stay on the surface instead of settling in seconds. What you can judge yourself is how the skin feels a minute later and how easily the next step spreads.
Should I use this morning and night?
Both, as the first leave-on step each time. In the morning it goes on before serum, moisturizer and sunscreen; at night it goes on before serum and moisturizer with nothing after them. If you only want it once a day, make it the evening, because that is when the surface has just come out of a cleanse.
Do I need a cotton pad for it?
No, and the palms use less. Pour a small pool into one hand, press it over the face in two or three passes, and go over the sides of the nose and the jaw. Cotton takes two or three times as much liquid for the same coverage, and dragging it across the cheeks is harder on the skin than the liquid is.
Can I use this with an exfoliant or a strong serum?
Yes, and this goes first. It is the water step, so it comes before anything stronger rather than after it. Let it settle, apply the stronger step, then your moisturizer. If your skin is having a reactive week, keep the strong step to alternate evenings and use this one every day.

Worth knowing
- Patch test on a small area of the jaw first if your skin reacts easily to something new.
- Leave a picked or broken area alone until it has closed rather than pressing over it.
